BU Questrom Hiring: Future of Healthy Aging

Boston University is conducting a university-wide convergent cluster search in the “Future of Healthy Aging”. As part of this search, Questrom is hiring for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position focused on the business and economics of health in an aging population.

Relevant areas include, but are not limited to, healthcare demand and delivery, insurance and financing, long-term care, consumer and family decision-making, workforce longevity, digital health adoption, and AI-enabled tools. Researchers could be a good fit if they work in health, public, labor, IO, behavioral, and related fields, so long as their research touches on aging; “aging” need not be the primary focus of their research.

• Full ad and application (Academic Jobs Online): https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/32920
• Priority deadline: November 15, 2026; applications close November 30, 2026.

Other BU schools have separate AJO listings in this cluster. Candidates may apply to those too, but to be considered for the Questrom position, they must apply through the Questrom link above.

The search committee is interdisciplinary, including faculty in economics, sociology, the medical school, engineering, public health, and other fields.

The cover letter is an important way the committee will assess fit. Candidates should:

  • Explain the research in plain language, including how it matters for an aging population, in terms that an interdisciplinary committee can follow
  • Address the convergent initiative and explain their interest in collaboration at BU outside of business school/econ departments
  • Identify one or more departments within Questrom that they would fit in

Even though the hiring process is interdisciplinary, the successful candidate will have a regular tenure-track appointment in a Questrom department.
